Pacific Coast Highway

A few months ago, I drove up to Monterey to visit my cousin and her husband who just moved there from Florida. My first solo mini road trip!

The first day, we drove down California Highway 1 or the Pacific Coast Highway along Big Sur. We stopped by Bixby Bridge, McWay Falls, then back to the Old Fisherman's Wharf. I can't even begin to put into words how beautiful the scenery was as we drove down Highway 1's winding roads. I almost couldn't believe it was all real - just photos you see in travel magazines. We stopped at a few vista points to admire the view and take several photos.

Watching the waves crash into the rocky coast under the blue skies left me speechless. It was one of those moments when all you need to do is just breathe it all in. Can you believe that God created all of this for us to love, admire, and appreciate? I'm so thankful that I got a chance to witness all this amazing beauty. If I had a dollar every time I said, "This is so pretty," I'd be a millionaire.

On the way back down to LA, I drove down Highway 1, stopping several times to take photos. I stopped by Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery to watch seals sunbathe on the shore; San Simeon, Morro Bay, and Solvang. If I had more time, I would have done the tour at Hearst Castle and explore Santa Barbara and Malibu. But by the time I got to Santa Barbara, traffic was already bad.

Nonetheless, the road trip was an amazing experience that I would definitely do again.
